How much is a shower room?


Prices start from around £7 500 (including VAT) for a straightforward refurbishment, with panels throughout and a similar layout.

Will I have a step for the shower?



It depends on your existing plumbing setup. If your current shower is level with the floor, it’s likely we can maintain that. However, if there’s already a step, we may or may not be able to remove it—this will depend on several factors, including drainage and floor structure.

Can I have both a bathtub and shower enclosure?



In most cases, yes—unless the bathroom is particularly small. To really make an impact, the best results usually come from combining a freestanding bathtub with a separate shower enclosure. It’s a winning combination that brings both style and practicality to your space.

What kind of enclosures can I get?



The most common types of enclosures are rectangular and quadrant, both available in a range of finishes and styles to suit your space. One option we often recommend—especially when dealing with more complex layouts—is a three-sided enclosure, which can be a clever solution in certain designs.

Can I change an electric shower to a thermostatic shower?



In most cases, yes—especially if you have a good combi boiler. If your home has a gravity-fed system with a tank in the loft, you may need to install a pump to achieve decent water pressure.

Can I change a shower from boiler to electric?



Technically yes, but it’s quite involved. We’d need to run a 10mm cable all the way back to the consumer unit, which typically means making access holes every metre or so to fish the cable through the wall. That’s in a modern timber-framed house—if the property is built with solid brick walls, surface-mounted trunking would likely be needed instead. Unless absolutely necessary, it’s often not worth the disruption and cost.

Are panels or tiles better?



UPVC panels are generally more affordable and easier to maintain, making them a practical choice for many bathrooms. Tiles, on the other hand, offer a more classic, high-end look—but they do come at a higher cost and require a bit more upkeep. That said, when using large-format tiles with epoxy grout, they can actually outperform panels in both quality and ease of cleaning—though this option tends to cost more than twice as much.

Is vinyl click flooring or tiles better?




We generally recommend vinyl click flooring, as it’s more affordable than tiles and feels warmer underfoot. The main situations where we’d suggest tiles instead are if you’re having a wetroom (where tiles are essential), if you’re planning underfloor heating (as tiles conduct heat more efficiently), or if you’re aiming for the most premium finish—tiles do have a slight edge in terms of overall appearance.

Have A Three Sided Enclosure

In this case, the customer wanted a shower enclosure but believed it wouldn’t be feasible due to the window. The solution was a three-sided enclosure, which can be positioned anywhere along the wall—even in the middle of the room—making it a versatile and practical choice. Mosaic Strip Inside Shower

This bathroom features a vertical mosaic tile design in the shower, elegantly highlighting the area around the showerhead. You can find the whole project here.

Panels only in the shower area

Some prefer panels, while others love tiles. If you want the best of both, consider a combination: panels in the shower area for easy maintenance and tiles elsewhere for a stylish finish. This way, you minimise hard-to-clean spots while still achieving a high-end look. You can find the whole project here.

Small sink and Vanity unit + toilet

In this space, it was essential for the customer to have both a bathtub and a shower. To achieve this, we covered the window, installed a compact 760mm shower enclosure, and used a sleek 900mm combination toilet and unit. This smart layout allowed us to fit both a shower and a bathtub within a standard 1700x2000mm room, maximising functionality. You can find the whole project here.

Utilise the Soil Pipe Box

Most bathrooms have a soil pipe ventilation system that extends through the roof. In this property in Bridge of Don, we extended the corner boxing by 800mm—the same width as the shower—followed by a smaller boxed section for the toilet. This design not only allowed us to incorporate deep recessed niches within the shower but also enabled the installation of a back-to-wall toilet with the cistern neatly concealed inside a tiled unit, creating a sleek and functional space. Have a Rectangular Shower on the Door Wall

This customer wanted to maximise storage while still having a spacious shower. The solution was a rectangular shower positioned along the window wall, paired with custom-built units, including a long storage unit at the end, ensuring both functionality and ample space. P shaped Bath with Sliding Screen

A P-shaped bathtub offers a more enclosed shower experience, making it a great choice if you want to minimise splashes—especially if you have a vanity unit or other fittings near the end of the bath. You can find the whole project here.

Long Illuminated Recess im the shower

In this case, we constructed a false wall at the end of the shower to accommodate a full-width illuminated niche. While this slightly reduces the overall space, it adds a sleek and stylish touch to the bathroom. You can find the whole project here.
