Showering and Laundry Together in Aberdeen

Shower Room With Washing Machine/Dryer Stacked, Aberdeen

A stacked washing machine and dryer give this Aberdeen shower room a second practical role, with a generous shower retained at the end of the room.

The former bath was replaced as part of a complete layout change. The appliances occupy a purpose-built area, leaving the basin, toilet and shower arranged along the remaining space.

A dedicated place for laundry

Stacking the washing machine and dryer uses height rather than spreading the appliances along the floor. It brings washing and drying into the bathroom while leaving room for the 1300 mm shower enclosure.

The appliances sit behind a purpose-built wall, giving the laundry area a defined position within the layout. Towels and clothing can be handled in the same room as washing, without claiming anything about how the household previously used other rooms.

Shower products in the wall

Illuminated recesses provide several places for shampoo and shower gel. The storage sits inside the tiled wall, keeping bottles off the tray without a projecting basket. The shower combines an overhead outlet with a handset.

The thermostatic control helps keep the selected temperature consistent. Tiled shower walls with epoxy grout provide a consistent finish, while the darker tray and pale horizontal tile pattern define the washing area.

A compact place to get ready

The basin cupboard gives everyday products a home behind doors. The illuminated mirror above places a mirror and light at the washing area without adding a large piece of furniture to the route through the room.

Keeping the basin and toilet compact allows the shower and laundry area to take the space they need. Pale furniture and walls balance the darker flooring and appliances.

Details for ordinary use

Vinyl click flooring avoids floor grout joints and gives a warmer feel underfoot than ceramic tiles. The towel radiator provides hanging space close to the washing area, and its wall-fed pipes leave fewer obstacles below when wiping the floor.

Downlights and an extractor provide lighting and ventilation for the room.
