While showers are the go-to choice for many these days, a bathtub remains one of the best features you can add to your bathroom. If you’re thinking about resale value, having a bathtub can make your property more appealing—especially to families with young children—helping it sell faster. Plus, bathtubs come in a range of styles to suit different spaces, from shower baths and freestanding tubs to corner, L-shaped, P-shaped, and B-shaped designs.
We’ll work with you to find the best way to incorporate a bathtub into your bathroom design. This page is all about bathtubs, but you can explore more of our work on our homepage. If you’re unsure whether a bath is right for you, have a look at our past projects or ideas pages for inspiration. You can check our quote & work process page for more details on how we do things.
If you’re in Aberdeen or the surrounding areas, get in touch to arrange a visit. Because we specialise in bathrooms, we’ll see solutions that others might miss.
How much is a bathroom with a bath?
Prices start from around £7,000 (including VAT) for a straightforward refurbishment, with panels throughout and a similar layout. As a general rule, bathrooms with a bathtub tend to be more cost-effective, as the plumbing is much simpler compared to other setups. However, costs can increase depending on the options you choose.
Can I supply my own materials?
Yes, of course. Most of our customers prefer us to supply the materials for warranty purposes, as we can’t offer a guarantee on items you provide yourself. However, we’re happy to organise this if you’d like. Your quote will include a clear breakdown of labour and materials, so you’ll be able to see exactly how much each item costs.
Do I have to change the subfloor and plasterboard?
Our quotes always include repairing or replacing the subfloor and plasterboard, particularly around wet areas. If your bathroom is over 10 years old, the question isn’t whether there’s water damage behind the tiles or panels, but how much.
Removing these materials also allows us to inspect the plumbing—hidden leaks, even slow ones, can cause significant damage over time, making future repairs far more costly. Additionally, moisture-resistant plasterboard wasn’t as commonly used in the past, so the existing plasterboard is likely just a crumbling sheet.
If you specifically request that we leave the subfloor and plasterboard as they are, we’re happy to do so, and the initial cost will be lower. However, in the long run, this could end up being much more expensive if underlying issues aren’t addressed.
Does it have to be a full refurbishment?
Over the years, we’ve attempted partial refurbishments, but they simply don’t work. Even in the best-case scenarios—where we manage to remove and reinstall items without damage or leaks—the stark contrast between new and old leaves customers dissatisfied. We made the decision long ago that we’d rather turn down a job than risk leaving a customer unhappy with a partial refurbishment.
Can I change only the bathtub?
Usually not. To properly seal a bathroom, the bathtub must be installed before the walls are finished. We fit the bathtub first, apply a waterproof barrier, and then tile or install panels. A proper seal isn’t possible if only the bathtub is replaced, which is why we don’t take on bathtub replacements as standalone jobs.
Can I change the position of the bathtub?
Yes, a bathtub is the easiest fixture to relocate in a bathroom, as all the pipework, including the toilet waste pipe, can be routed underneath. With a shower, we sometimes need to build a step to accommodate the drainage, but with a standard bathtub (excluding freestanding models), the pipes can be neatly concealed beneath.
What material should I use for a bathtub?
Acrylic is the most common choice, but some people prefer steel, and we do use a selection of steel options as well.
What size can I get the bathtub?
We offer bathtubs in a range of sizes to suit different spaces. The smallest we’ve installed was a 1200mm walk-in bath, while the largest measured 2000mm. For those looking for the most budget-friendly option, a standard 1700x700mm bath is usually the best choice.

Illuminated Recess near bathtub
This Kingswells bathroom featured a sloped ceiling, so we maximised the space by adding a sleek, full-length shelf along the wall. To enhance both style and functionality, we incorporated an illuminated recess near the bathtub—perfect for toiletries or, as our customer chose, a decorative touch with a small flower. You can find the whole project here.

Framed Bathtub (Tiles all around)
This customer in Kintore wanted a framed surround for their bathtub, creating a handy ledge where their children can keep their toys while they bathe. You can find the whole project here.

P shaped Bath with Sliding Screen
A P-shaped bathtub offers a more enclosed shower experience, making it a great choice if you want to minimise splashes—especially if you have a vanity unit or other fittings near the end of the bath. You can find the whole project here.

Wall Bath Filler
A wall-mounted bath filler is an excellent solution, particularly for freestanding bathtubs where a tap cannot be installed directly onto the tub. In such cases, the choice is between a freestanding filler or a wall-mounted option, with the latter offering a sleek and space-saving alternative. You can find the whole project here.

Freestanding Bathtub in front of the window
A freestanding bathtub in front of a window creates a stunning focal point, making the most of natural light and offering a more relaxing, spa-like experience. We use this kind of setup in this bathroom in Portlethen. You can find the whole project here.

Recess Above Bathtub
This freestanding bathtub was positioned in front of a window, beneath a sloped roof with eaves storage. To maximise the space, we incorporated a long recess within the eaves, matching the length of the bathtub for a seamless and practical design. This was for a rural property just outside Aberdeen. You can find the whole project here.

Freestanding Bathtub at an angle
Angling the freestanding bathtub can be a smart solution in many cases, as seen here, where it allowed us to fit a 1500mm bathtub into a compact corner. You can find the whole project here.

Have a Jacuzzi Bathtub
Any bathtub can be upgraded into a jacuzzi-style bathtub, adding a touch of luxury to your bathroom. While it is more expensive than a standard tub, if you’ve always dreamed of having a jacuzzi experience at home, we can help make it a reality. We used this in this bathroom in Aberdeen. You can find the whole project here.

Use a Steel Bathtub for Grip Handles
Modern bathtubs are typically made from acrylic, which is a great choice as it’s easy to manufacture, simple to install, and helps retain heat for longer. However, one drawback is that acrylic isn’t always strong enough to securely support grip handles. If you need added stability, a steel bathtub would be a better option. You can find the whole project here.

Bathtub in front of the window
Placing a bathtub in front of a window is possible if the window surround is replaced with a waterproof solution, such as tiles, as shown in this example. Additionally, the window should be made of UPVC for durability and moisture resistance. You can find the whole project here.

Traditional Freestanding Bathtub
Love the Victorian look? A freestanding bathtub with elegant legs can serve as the perfect centrepiece for your bathroom, adding timeless charm and sophistication. You can find the whole project here.

Illuminated Recesses
Illuminated recesses at the end of the bathtub provide both stylish and practical storage. You can find the whole project here.

Bathtub under Sloped Part
A compact bathtub beneath a sloped ceiling is a smart design choice. While it can’t double as a shower bath, it works perfectly as a dedicated bathing space. You can find the whole project here.

Hybrid bathtub (freestanding against the wall)
In this design in a property in West End, we placed a freestanding bathtub against the wall, complemented by a sleek wall-mounted bath filler. You can find the whole project here.

Radiator in the bathtub
When space is limited, mounting a compact towel radiator higher on the wall at the end of the bathtub can be a practical and efficient solution. You can find the whole project here.

Custom fitted units and toilet on the side wall
This layout is a great solution for many small bathrooms, with units placed along one side wall and the walk-in shower or bathtub on the opposite side. For optimal balance and functionality, the dividing wall should be roughly centred in the room. In this design, the radiator is positioned at the end of the bathtub, making efficient use of the available space. You can find the whole project here.

Freestanding Bathtub Fitted at Angle
Freestanding bathtubs offer the flexibility to be positioned as needed. In this case, combining a wetroom with a compact freestanding bathtub allowed the customer to enjoy both a shower and a bath, maximising functionality without compromising space. You can find the whole project here.

Freestanding Bathtub in front of the window and Recesses
In this setup, we positioned a freestanding bathtub in front of the window. To make the most of the space, we added recessed storage in the extended boxing at the end of the bath, which conceals the toilet soil pipe. You can find the whole project here.

Tiled Bath Frame
This bathtub features a framed structure around it, offering a convenient spot for storing items like toys. You can find the whole project here.

Bath filler in the overflow
This bathtub features a sleek, modern design without a standard bath filler. Instead, the wall-mounted controls operate the filler, with water flowing in seamlessly through the overflow. You can find the whole project here.

Freestamding bathtub under sloped areas
In this Woodend property, we installed a compact freestanding bathtub perfectly positioned beneath the sloped ceiling. You can find the whole project here.

Use Traditional Elements With Modern Ones
This bathroom features a modern B-shaped bathtub, beautifully contrasted with traditional-style elements throughout. You can find the whole project here.

TV near the bathtub
This TV adds a touch of luxury, perfect for unwinding in the bathtub. You can find the whole project here.

Chromatic Therapy
This bathtub was transformed into a jacuzzi with chromotherapy lights, which change colour to enhance relaxation. Unfortunately, we missed the chance to capture photos at night when the effect was at its most striking. You can find the whole project here.

TV above bathtub
Over the years, we’ve installed TVs above bathtubs, all IP-rated and specifically designed for bathroom use—just like this one in Stonehaven. You can find the whole project here.

Bathtub and Enclosure under sloped ceiling
This project in Aberdeen involved creating a new bathroom with both a shower and bathtub. We positioned the bathtub along the long wall, making the most of the space under the sloped ceiling. You can find the whole project here.

Illuminated Recess at the end of the bathtub
These built-in illuminated recesses add both style and functionality, creating a modern feature while providing practical storage at the end of the bathtub. You can find the whole project here.

Hybrid Bathtub
A hybrid bathtub is perfect for those who want a shower bath while still enjoying the elegance of a freestanding tub. You can find the whole project here.

Bath Filler in Overflow
This bathroom in Midstocket features a bath filler integrated directly into the overflow. You can find the whole project here.

Wall Mounted Bath filler
A wall-mounted bath filler offers a sleek, modern look while making cleaning much easier. You can find the whole project here.

Waterfall Taps
Waterfall taps add a stylish touch, especially as a bath filler. While they can sometimes cause splashing in a basin if the water pressure is particularly strong, they remain one of the best choices for a bath, combining elegance with a smooth, cascading flow. You can find the whole project here.
