Making a New Bathroom Feel Right
This bathroom was part of a fairly new development, less than five years old, but from the moment our customers moved in they knew something wasn’t quite right. It looked fine, but it didn’t work for the way they lived. The layout felt awkward, and the space never felt relaxing or easy to use.
What they really wanted was simple: a bathroom that felt comfortable and practical, with both a proper shower and a bath. They didn’t want to compromise, but with limited space, it needed some careful thought to make everything fit without the room feeling tight or cluttered.
The solution was a compact walk-in shower, sized at 1200 x 900. It’s not a big shower, but it’s been designed to work hard. Two glass panels with flipper doors allow the space to open up when needed, keeping the room feeling light and flexible while still being practical day to day. It’s one of those details you don’t think about until you use it – and then it just makes sense.
Inside the shower, we used wood-effect tiles to bring a bit of warmth into the room. Against the surrounding tiles, they add texture and character without overpowering the space. It gives the shower its own identity and makes it feel like somewhere you actually want to spend time, rather than just rush through.
The rest of the bathroom was tiled all around for a clean, calm finish that’s easy to live with. Underfloor heating was added too – one of those features that quietly changes how the room feels, especially on cold mornings.
To keep everything feeling open, we fitted a wall-hung vanity unit and a floating toilet, with the system neatly boxed in and tiled so it blends seamlessly into the room. The freestanding bath became a natural focal point, giving the space a sense of balance and a touch of luxury without feeling overdone.
Finishing touches were chosen carefully:
- An LED mirror that gives soft, flattering light
- A towel radiator with pipework coming neatly from the wall
- Clean lines and uncluttered surfaces throughout
Now, the bathroom finally feels like it belongs in their home. It’s easy to use, comfortable, and calm – somewhere they can start the day without stress and end it by slowing things down. For our customers, it’s not just a better bathroom, it’s a space that fits their life properly at last.
