FAQ
Please let us know if you have any questions. You can find some common questions below, but if there is anything else, just let us know.
What happens after I accept the quote?
Once you confirm by email, we check available start dates. After that, we finalise the product selections, confirm compatibility, place the orders, and, if included, prepare the 3D design before the project begins.
Is the quote a fixed price?
Yes. Your quote is fixed and will not change, even if we uncover issues once the old bathroom is removed. That gives you certainty from the start and protects you from the extra costs that are common with bathroom projects.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
No. We do not take a deposit. You only receive an invoice once the work is completed. This gives customers peace of mind and removes the risk of paying upfront.
What does the warranty cover?
Our warranty covers all workmanship and any materials supplied by us. Depending on the package you choose, this can be up to 5 years. In bathroom projects, the main cost of a failure is usually the labour needed to put it right, which is why a proper warranty is so important.
Do I need to organise any other trades?
No. We take care of everything. You do not need to arrange trades; we do everything, from removal to final painting.
How long does the project take?
Because we specialise in bathrooms only and keep everything in-house, most full refurbishments are completed in as little as 4 to 5 working days. In many cases, we start on Monday and have everything ready by Friday. Very complex projects can take longer; usually, wet trades such as tiles, plaster and paint, as well as complex layout changes, increase the time to completion the most.
Will I have a toilet while the work is being done?
If this is the only bathroom in the house, we will usually keep a working toilet available for most of the project, especially overnight.
Do you dispose of the waste?
Yes, we take care of all waste disposal. In the breakdown, this is listed separately, so you can arrange it yourself if you want to save some money. As a trade, we pay by weight to dispose of rubbish. Some bathrooms generate over one tonne of waste, so please make sure you have a large car if you decide to do this yourself.
Do I need to be at home while the work takes place?
No. Some customers prefer to stay at home, while others go away and come back to a completed bathroom. The choice is yours. If you are away, we usually send daily progress photos on WhatsApp so you can see how the project is moving along.
Is it worth choosing a higher package?
We aim to offer very good value at every level. The higher packages allow us to go further with the finish, design and overall result. If your budget allows, the Premium Package will usually give the best overall outcome, but the Value Package still offers excellent value for money.
Can I supply my own products?
In most cases, we prefer to supply the products ourselves. We no longer offer labour-only quotes because, over time, we found that many customer-supplied items were chosen mainly for appearance rather than long-term reliability. If there are one or two specific items you would really like to supply, we can sometimes allow that, but in general, we prefer to handle supply directly so we can reduce the risk of delays, incorrect items and difficulties with replacements if anything goes wrong.
I have seen something I like. Can you supply something similar?
Often, yes. Our catalogues are built on years of trial, testing and real installation experience, which means the products we recommend have already proved reliable and come from suppliers we know we can depend on. If you have something specific in mind, we can usually check whether one of our suppliers offers a similar option. Because we provide long warranties, reliability has to come first, so we only supply products we trust and can source through our approved suppliers, which also means any replacement can usually be resolved quickly if needed. Many products online look good at first glance, but in reality, offer very poor long-term reliability.
Can I see the products in a shop?
Some products are available locally, but many of the products we use come from larger online suppliers. Local ranges are often limited and usually more expensive. Using larger suppliers gives us access to a wider range of sizes, styles and options, which usually leads to a better result.
When do I need to choose the products?
If you choose a package with 3D design, we usually need your selections around 2 to 3 weeks before the project starts. For the Value Package, it is usually 1 to 2 weeks before. This gives us enough time to check compatibility and order everything properly.
Can I arrange a follow-up visit if I have more questions?
Yes, of course. Simply send us an email, and we can arrange a follow-up visit to discuss the project in more detail.
Can I change the work scope to reduce the price?
Sometimes, yes, but we usually recommend focusing on the best long-term solution rather than simply the lowest upfront price. A bathroom is something you will use every day for years, so it is usually better to get it right the first time.
Can I cancel the project?
Yes, you can cancel the project by giving at least 28 days’ notice. If less than 28 days’ notice is given, the cancellation fee is equal to the labour cost, because at that stage, it is usually too late for us to fill the slot with another project.
The project is urgent. Can you fit it in sooner?
Usually not. In most cases, you will need to wait at least a few weeks, and often 2 to 3 months, for the next available slot. If you have an urgent issue such as a leak, we may be able to organise a repair first and then complete the refurbishment later. Sometimes, we can fit projects in on a shorter timescale, but it is the exception rather than the rule.
The offer has expired. Can I still accept the quote?
If you still wish to consider our offer after it has expired, you will need to request an updated quote. It is almost guaranteed that the price will be higher. Over the last five years, our prices have roughly doubled, and we expect the same trend to continue in the future. Materials costs rise more than inflation, and a labour shortage in the construction industry means wages get higher and higher to attract staff.
In certain situations, we may not be able to provide an updated quote. During very busy periods, when we receive more work than we can undertake, we have to decline some projects. When this happens, especially during the summer months or the months before Christmas, we will only undertake projects either for returning customers, as it is always easier to work with someone where a trusting relationship has already been formed, or projects that are very close to us, as it is much more efficient when we do not have to travel too much between projects. At times, we receive two to three times more enquiries than we could possibly take on, and no matter how much we would like to undertake all the work our customers want done, it is simply impossible.
Can you book projects more than 90 days in advance?
Usually not. To protect customers from supplier price rises, we normally only book projects within the next 90 days. This helps us keep pricing accurate and avoids committing too far ahead based on costs that may change. In the past, we booked projects up to six months in advance, and when prices started rising, we had to undertake some projects at a loss because, by the time we came to carry out the work, the costs had exceeded what we had originally quoted. As a result, we now try to book only 90 days ahead. Although the prices might seem high, they are high because there are a lot of costs involved in a bathroom refurbishment, and the margins are quite small, so it is easy for a project to become unprofitable if our costs rise even by a small amount.
How long is the quote valid for?
Your quote is valid for 7 days only. Due to changing costs in our business, we can’t offer you a quote valid for more than 7 days.
What time do you usually start the work? What days do you work?
In most cases, we will start around 7:30 am and finish around 5 pm, Monday to Friday. During very busy weeks, we might work late or at weekends.
How long will I be without electricity and water?
We try, as much as possible, to shut off the water for only around 30–60 minutes when we start the project. We fit isolation valves to the pipes running to the bathroom, so you’re not left without water in the whole house. The same applies to the electricity; we will only switch it off for a few minutes when we need to carry out electrical work.
Do you price match other quotes?
We are not trying to be the cheapest quote, but value for money is very important to us. We can match another quote if it is genuinely like-for-like in terms of materials, scope of work, terms and warranty. The fixed-price policy and warranty are especially important.
What are the benefits of having a bathroom specialist for my project?
A bathroom may be one of the smallest rooms in your home, but it is often the most complex. Plumbing, electrics, waterproofing, tiling, ventilation and finishing all have to work together perfectly in a space exposed to daily moisture. When they do not, even a small mistake can turn into a costly problem later.
We are former general contractors who worked on full refurbishments, extensions and conversions before specialising exclusively in bathrooms. That combination gives you something valuable: the broad experience to handle complex building work and the specialist knowledge to get the bathroom details right.
This matters even more in older homes, where outdated plumbing, hidden issues and non-standard fittings can quickly catch out less experienced installers. Because we focus only on bathrooms, we know what to expect, how to solve problems properly, and how to reduce the risk of issues further down the line.
In short, choosing a bathroom specialist gives you more than a nicer finish. It gives you greater peace of mind, better long-term value, and a far lower chance of the kind of mistakes that are expensive to put right later.
If it were your bathroom, what would you do?
We generally think about the long-term reliability of the bathroom first, and the design second. We would use large tiles throughout the room, with a similar colour to the tiles, tiled flooring, and underfloor heating. We would also use epoxy grout instead of standard grout. A 3 mm epoxy grout joint usually means no more problems with cracked grout or grout that is difficult to clean.
For the ceiling, we would use a matt UPVC ceiling with downlights, as this is the closest option to plaster and paint without all the maintenance involved. We would also install the best possible ventilation for the room, as opening the window is usually not enough. We would oversize the radiator, as bigger is generally better, and we would use a walk-in shower with a fixed glass panel if possible.
A walk-in shower usually works well even when you have children, as you can always use a foldable baby bathtub inside a large walk-in shower. If there were enough space for a bathtub as well, we would choose a freestanding bathtub. We would also use a large LED mirror with a demister pad. Cabinets may seem more useful, but they have moving parts that can break over time.
We would use a thermostatic shower if the property has a modern hot water system, and we would choose chrome fittings. Compared to colours such as black or brass, chrome is a chemical finish that tends to last much longer than a simple coating. We would also choose a close-coupled toilet, as it is easier to maintain than other options, and a wall-hung vanity unit, as it makes cleaning underneath much easier.
If the walls were hollow, we would use the space for recesses to create extra storage. If storage were especially important, we would recommend custom-built units.
This is probably the best option if reliability is the most important factor. From a design perspective, something else might suit the room better. For example, you may want one wall left painted, but that comes with extra maintenance. You may also prefer black fittings, but they require more careful cleaning. As long as you are aware of the trade-off between reliability and design, it is absolutely worth choosing a different design if that is what you want.
