More room to shower. Less time cleaning. A small bathroom in Aberdeen that makes everyday life easier.

You don’t always need a bigger bathroom to have a more comfortable one. Sometimes, the biggest improvement comes from making the space work better for you.

For this customer in Aberdeen, the priority was a larger shower with more room to move. But with an already small bathroom and an awkwardly angled wall, simply fitting a bigger enclosure wasn’t an option.

We redesigned the layout around a walk-in shower at the end of the room. This also meant moving the toilet, which presented a challenge: concealing its waste pipe behind a false wall would have eaten into the very shower space we were trying to create.

Instead, we agreed a solution with the customer that turned a plumbing obstacle into something useful: a built-in shower seat, with the pipe concealed underneath. Rather than losing space to a wall, they now have a practical perch for washing or shaving their legs, while keeping the main shower area open.

Recessed shelves keep shampoo, shower gel and other toiletries within easy reach, without baskets or shelves sticking out into the shower. That means more room to move comfortably, with the things they need close to hand.

We also wanted the bathroom to be easier to look after, not just nicer to look at. Easy-clean wall panels mean fewer grout lines to scrub, while the fixed glass screen with a hinged flipper panel helps contain splashes without the extra tracks and mechanisms of a sliding enclosure. The rimless toilet removes another awkward area to clean beneath.

The little comforts matter, too. The designer radiator sits just outside the shower entrance, putting a warm, dry towel within easy reach when stepping out. Its open-ended design makes towels easier to slide on and off, and the pipework comes neatly through the wall rather than up from the floor. Vinyl click flooring adds a warmer feel underfoot than tiles, without needing underfloor heating.

Getting ready is easier as well. The illuminated mirror cabinet provides storage for smaller essentials, while its demister helps keep the reflection clear after a steamy shower—less wiping the mirror before shaving or doing make-up.

Below it, a wall-hung vanity with two drawers gives everyday essentials a home, helping keep the basin area clear. Leaving the floor visible underneath makes the room feel more open and makes cleaning easier, with no awkward furniture legs to work around.

The room is still small, but it now offers much more: a comfortable shower, useful storage, a warm towel within reach and less time spent cleaning. Not just a new bathroom, but a better start and finish to the customer’s day.
