This project started with a clear challenge: the customer had what was essentially a cloakroom-sized space and wanted to transform it into a fully functional bathroom — with a proper walk-in shower, practical storage, and finishes that would be easy to maintain over time.
To achieve this, we had to completely rethink the layout:
- We shifted the toilet position to create room for a 1400×760 walk-in shower.
- A false wall was built to cover the soil pipe and house two recessed shelves, giving the customer essential shower storage without using up floor space.
- To avoid the door clashing with fittings, we replaced it with a pocket door that slides neatly into the wall — an ideal space-saving solution in narrow rooms.
The finishes were chosen for low maintenance and brightness. We fitted UPVC wall panels on all walls and a UPVC ceiling to eliminate grout lines and make cleaning effortless. A set of bright LED downlights was installed to help open up the room and make it feel larger.
Despite the restricted size, the bathroom now includes:
- A wall-hung vanity unit positioned directly opposite the toilet
- A tall, wall-mounted storage cabinet for essentials
- A matte black designer radiator that matches the shower screen and tapware
- Vinyl click flooring in a warm, natural finish for slip resistance and comfort
What was once a cloakroom is now a modern, fully equipped bathroom — smartly laid out, easy to live with, and built around the customer’s needs.
