A basin immediately outside a small shower can make the surrounding area awkward to use. In this ensuite, we moved the basin and toilet onto the opposite wall as part of a full redesign. That opened up the space in front of the shower and helped accommodate a wider showering area. Considering where you stand before and after washing can reveal a better layout, rather than simply replacing each fitting in its original position.
