A ceiling can strongly influence how a bathroom feels, even when the main changes are below it. In this refurbishment, the old wooden ceiling was replaced with plaster and downlights, creating a brighter, simpler backdrop for the room. It allowed the new basin, bath and tiled areas to sit within a more contemporary setting. Considering the existing ceiling early helps us decide whether keeping it will support the finished room or hold the design back.
