A low ceiling and a bathtub made standing showers uncomfortable for the taller occupants of this home. We replaced the bath with a walk-in shower and installed the tray as low as possible. Removing the height of the bath from the showering position helped the layout suit the people using it. The improvement came from considering both the floor level and the ceiling, rather than treating headroom as a fixed limitation.
