Existing pipes can set the limits of a bathroom redesign. Here, gas and central-heating pipes beneath the old bath could not practically be rerouted, so the former bath area became a bank of deep storage units. The shower was placed on the opposite side of the room. Working with the service positions turned a plumbing restriction into useful furniture space rather than forcing the new shower into an unsuitable location.
