This customer in Olmeldrum already used us around a year previous to this to refurbish an ensuite, and tranform a cloakroom into a shower room. This time they contacted to refurbish their main bathroom.
Since this was the main bathroom in the house, it was important to do the most with the space. Being a relatively large bathroom, we could play around with the design and make a design both looking good and practica.
Starting from the window, we replaced the corner bath with a freestanding bath with a freestanding filler. A fake wall was fitted in front of the window, in order to create a long recess above the bathtub, illuminated.
The shower side has the most modifications. The shower enclosure was removed and a wetroom area was created in that space, the concealed controls allow to have warm water before entering the shower area and there is a recessed shower head in the ceiling for a truly rain experience. The whole wall was doubled in order to create a long illuminated recess, with different tiles behind. The toilet is wall hung, with the system inside this wall, and it’s a smart toilet.
The sink wall we fitted a wall hung vanity unit, we used a feature strip (around 900mm) of wood effect slate tiles to the ceiling, a wall hung storage unit, a large brass radiator.
This customer in Oldmeldrum had already used us around a year earlier to refurbish their ensuite and transform a cloakroom into a shower room. This time, they contacted us to refurbish the main family bathroom.
As the main bathroom in the house, it was important to make the most of the available space. The room was relatively large, which gave us more freedom with the layout and allowed us to create a design that was both practical and visually impressive.
Starting at the window, we removed the existing corner bath and replaced it with a freestanding bath and freestanding bath filler. We built a false wall in front of the window, allowing us to create a long illuminated recess above the bath for toiletries and decorative items.
The shower side of the room underwent the biggest transformation. The existing shower enclosure was removed and replaced with a spacious wetroom area. Concealed shower controls were positioned outside the main spray area, allowing the water to reach the right temperature before stepping into the shower. A recessed ceiling-mounted shower head creates a true rainfall shower experience.
We doubled out the entire shower wall to conceal the plumbing and create a long illuminated recess, finished with contrasting tiles to make it a feature of the room. The same wall also houses the concealed frame for the wall-hung smart toilet, helping to keep the overall design clean and streamlined.
On the basin wall, we fitted a wall-hung vanity unit, wall-mounted storage and a large brass radiator. A roughly 900 mm-wide feature strip of wood-effect slate tiles runs from floor to ceiling, adding warmth and texture to the room.
Throughout the bathroom, we used large-format 1200 × 600 mm tiles with epoxy grout for a cleaner finish and easier maintenance. The room also benefits from underfloor heating, recessed downlights, an inline extractor fan and a dual electric toothbrush charger.
The finished bathroom combines practical features with a more luxurious design, while making much better use of the generous space available.
