Gas and central-heating pipes beneath the existing bath made rerouting impractical in this bathroom. We placed the new 1200 × 800 mm shower on the opposite side and used the former bath area for deep storage units. The layout worked around the fixed services while still providing a comfortable washing space. Sometimes the better solution is to reconsider where the shower belongs, rather than forcing a new fitting into the old bath’s position.
