A shallow run of cupboards can leave more of the room available for movement, but the basin still needs to be comfortable to use. In this example, a semi-recessed basin projects beyond the worktop and cupboard fronts. The bowl has its own depth without requiring the entire furniture run to follow it. Choosing the basin and cabinetry together helps balance handwashing space with useful storage.
