Sometimes the most comfortable bathroom starts with recognising what the room can realistically accommodate. Here, the ceiling was just over 1800 mm high, so a standing shower was unsuitable. A freestanding bath gave the former cloakroom a useful bathing purpose without forcing a shower into inadequate headroom. The result makes a low room work on its own terms, giving the household somewhere to bathe while keeping the fittings suited to the space.
