A Cults wetroom with more headroom and fitted storage

This Cults bathroom makes better use of an awkward room through a wetroom-style shower, bespoke furniture and storage built into the walls.

The shower ceiling was raised using space above the old ceiling. Alongside it, custom units occupy the former bath niche, making an unusual part of the room useful for everyday washing and storage.

More headroom where it matters

The source project records an increase in ceiling height above the shower. Using the void above the former ceiling gives this part of the room more vertical space, rather than letting the old ceiling dictate the shower arrangement.

The tiled shower floor and linear drain form a defined wetroom area. A clear screen separates it from the furniture side while keeping the whole room visible.

Furniture fitted to the room

The former bath niche offered an opportunity for storage, but standard freestanding furniture would not have made the same use of it. Bespoke units place a basin, worktop and cupboards into the available shape.

The narrower toilet unit helps the furniture fit together across this side of the room. A continuous worktop gives the individual fittings a shared line, with enclosed storage underneath for supplies that do not need to stay on show. It is a useful way to give an awkward recess a daily purpose.

Everyday items within reach

Open shelves beside the basin give frequently used items a place where they can be seen. The nearby shower recesses provide another location for washing products, keeping them off the shower floor.

The round LED mirror brings an illuminated detail to the basin wall. Textured feature tiles and the wood-toned worktop distinguish the dressing area from the larger grey tiles elsewhere. Storage and appearance work together, so useful details do not feel added as an afterthought.

Large surfaces and a consistent palette

Large wall and floor tiles keep the grey finish consistent across the room. The source identifies 600 × 600 floor tiles and 600 × 300 wall tiles, giving the surfaces a broader pattern than small mosaic tiling.

The radiator receives its pipework from the wall, leaving fewer obstacles beneath it when wiping the floor. Together with the fitted furniture and the clear shower screen, this restrained finish allows the new layout to remain the main feature rather than competing with several different colours.
