This project involved a full bathroom reconfiguration designed around how the customers actually wanted to use the space day-to-day. Rather than keeping the original layout, we rearranged the room so it could include both a proper walk-in shower and a comfortable bath. The customers were happy to sacrifice a small amount of storage in order to gain a much more practical and enjoyable bathroom, and the new layout makes far better use of the available space.
One of the biggest improvements is the addition of a large walk-in shower on the door wall. This creates a much more convenient daily routine, especially for quick morning showers. The generous showering area, combined with a thermostatic shower, means consistent temperature and a far more comfortable experience. White vertical tiles help keep the area bright and visually spacious, while illuminated recesses provide practical storage for toiletries without the clutter of shelves or baskets.
The bathtub was repositioned into the corner and upgraded to a hybrid freestanding style. This allows the room to feel more open while still providing the option of a relaxing bath when needed. The wall-mounted bath filler keeps the edges of the bath clear, which not only looks cleaner but also makes the bath easier to wipe down and maintain.
The sink was carefully positioned near the undersloped section of the room where head height is more limited. This ensures the taller parts of the space remain open and comfortable to move around in, while still making full use of areas that might otherwise be wasted. The vanity unit underneath provides practical storage for everyday items, helping keep surfaces clear and the bathroom looking tidy.
Above the basin, a round cabinet mirror with two side lights creates a balanced and well-lit grooming area. This type of lighting is particularly useful for shaving, skincare, or getting ready in the morning, as it provides even illumination without harsh shadows.
To improve everyday comfort, a modern towel radiator was installed with shelves above. This means warm towels are always within reach after a shower or bath, while the shelving provides convenient storage for folded towels or bathroom essentials. It’s a small feature that makes the room feel much more practical and welcoming.
The flooring was finished with vinyl click flooring, which offers a warm feel underfoot while also being highly water-resistant and easy to clean. This makes the bathroom more comfortable to use while also reducing long-term maintenance.
Painted walls and carefully placed downlights help keep the whole room bright and inviting, even during darker winter mornings. The lighting also highlights the clean lines of the layout and makes the space feel larger than it actually is.
Overall, this project transformed the bathroom from a layout that limited how the room could be used into one that works naturally with everyday routines. The result is a space that is easier to use, more comfortable, simpler to maintain, and far more enjoyable for the homeowners every day.
