In this ensuite project, we focused on creating a comfortable and accessible space tailored to the specific needs of a wheelchair user. The old walk-in shower was transformed into a sleek and functional wetroom, designed for ease of use. We installed a wall-hung seat for added comfort, and positioned the shower controls outside the spray area, allowing for safer and more convenient operation. A small screen (400mm) was carefully chosen to protect the vanity unit without obstructing access, making the space feel more open.
For added convenience and hygiene, we upgraded the close-coupled toilet to a smart Japanese-style toilet, offering a range of benefits including a heated seat, automatic wash and dry functions, and hands-free operation.
A bespoke, floor-to-ceiling mirror not only enhances the feeling of space but also includes a demister pad, operated via a switch located outside the room, ensuring a clear reflection even after a hot shower.
The walls and floor are tiled for easy cleaning, with the added comfort of underfloor heating. A modern vanity unit with spacious drawers was installed to provide ample storage, keeping the room clutter-free and organised. Overall, this ensuite prioritises accessibility, comfort, and modern luxury.
