Use the floor for the strongest colour contrast

The darkest finish in this view is the floor. Broad rectangular tiles sit beneath pale walls and white sanitaryware, with light joints making their arrangement visible. The contrast gives the lower surface definition while the wall finish remains much lighter.

If you like a strong dark finish, consider which surface should carry it. A dark floor creates a different balance from dark walls or furniture. Compare it with the wall sample and sanitaryware together, including the joint colour, so the contrast is a deliberate room choice rather than an isolated flooring decision.
