Use the bath end for a small shelf

The bath ends beneath a deeper ledge and a narrow shelf on the wall above. These surfaces give that end of the room another use without adding a cupboard beside the bath. The shelf stays relatively slim, with open wall visible beneath it.

Include the end wall when deciding where bathing items will go. A shelf may be an alternative to a recess where that better suits the construction and layout. Set its depth and position around the bath, what you want to keep there and the space needed to sit or stand comfortably.
