Ventilation options can depend on what sits on the other side of a bathroom wall. Here, a neighbouring cupboard allowed us to replace the existing extractor with an inline fan. Looking beyond the bathroom itself made a different arrangement possible while the cloakroom was being converted into a shower room. It is a useful reminder that effective planning includes the nearby spaces and services, rather than stopping at the finished bathroom walls.
