Plan the direction of strong tile patterns

A stone-effect tile can look very different once several pieces meet on a wall. In this bathroom, the pronounced diagonal markings give the end wall a strong visual pattern, even though the room uses one main tile finish. For tiles with bold faces, we consider their direction and arrangement before fitting: where the strongest markings will sit, how neighbouring pieces look together, and which wall you see first.

That extra thought helps the finished room feel more considered. It also gives the tiles themselves a decorative role without needing another feature material.
