We started this business to solve a problem that is surprisingly difficult to fix in the UK construction industry: finding a refurbishment service you can actually rely on.

We started out as general contractors, but today, we specialise exclusively in bathrooms. Why? Because bathrooms are arguably the most difficult rooms in the house to refurbish properly. They are used every single day, constantly exposed to moisture, and require many different trades to work in perfect harmony. A simple bathroom refurbishment involves over 200 individual parts. A complex project can easily exceed 500. Every single one of those parts is a potential failure point—which is why absolute attention to detail isn’t just a luxury; it’s a necessity.

Because we are so highly specialised, we have the expertise to handle complex projects, awkward spaces, and challenging designs that general contractors often struggle with.

Our Story

We launched in 2014 as a small father-and-son venture here in Aberdeen. At the time, my father was working for a large local contractor, and I was studying for a business degree. Given my father’s extensive background running his own construction business abroad—building entire houses from the ground up—joining forces felt like the natural next step.

In the beginning, we didn’t set out to be bathroom specialists. We were general contractors focused on delivering projects as efficiently and cost-effectively as possible. We naturally gravitated toward projects that made financial sense for the homeowner—where the added value to the property clearly exceeded the cost of the work.

However, as our schedule filled up, we quickly realised a hard truth about the UK construction industry: while tradesmen are easy to find, professionals who turn up on time, communicate clearly, and deliver consistent quality are incredibly rare.

As we took on larger interior refurbishments, we found that bathrooms were the area where we could offer the most dramatic improvement over the market standard. Older bathrooms were relatively simple, but modern bathrooms have become highly technical. The more complex the design, the higher the risk of failure if the wrong seal, adhesive, or fixing is used.

The Shift to Long-Term Value

Over the years, through trial, error, and intense refinement, our purchasing decisions fundamentally changed. And honestly, one thing we haven’t managed to do is keep our prices low.

We learned the hard way that a low-cost model always forces compromises. Trying to save money upfront almost always results in failures, repeat issues, and frustration down the line. So, we made a conscious decision to step away from the budget market.

Today, we operate in the mid-range market, investing heavily in the best products, methods, and services available. We focus entirely on what matters most: a bathroom that lasts, a project that feels expertly managed, and zero headaches after completion.
